We are delighted to report we raised £953.02 for Winter Night Shelter.

Phillip Everest from WNSMK said ‘We really appreciate the generosity of people such as your Rotary members and the residents of the estates through which the Christmas Santa’s Sledge float was towed who contributed to your fundraiser. In 2015/16 we resourced for up to 1,575 bed nights with 15 bed spaces, which is the maximum manageable at our venues with so many vulnerable individuals using our services, 15 weeks from December through mid-March. This is only made possible by the generosity of people like your members and local residents. Thank you.

Tamsin RawlingsWillen Hospice
Tamsin thanked us for the club’s donation of £953.02.  Willen Hospice has been serving the community for over 37 years,  and keeps expanding.  It provides end of life care for those 18+.  Includes hospice at home service, so there are a range of services they offer beyond the 15 beds in the hospice itself.  All services are free to those who want to use it – hence need to keep fund raising.  22% comes from NHS, but have to raise the rest themselves – about £10,000 per day (3.6 million pa).  Today’s money will provide 3 weeks of basic medical supplies or a hospice at home team.

The Rotary Club of the Brickhills would also like to thank residents of the estates where we towed Christmas Santa’s Sledge float for their generous contributions.
We are able to increase our donation to the Santa Float Charities by a Santander donation of an extra £700 to each charity.

The partygoers, including Brickhill Rotary Club, took part by throwing the dice, being jockeys and tellers or simply placing a bet. All were rewarded with a fish and chip supper.

The evening raised over £1200 which will cover the purchase of 18 round tables still needed to equip Parkside Hall for Rotary events it plans to offer in the coming months and years.

20160312 16340620160312 152530The Rotary Club of Milton Keynes organises a Swimathon each year and since its inception in 1994 the event has raised nearly Half a Million Pounds.

This year the Brickhills sponsored swimmers swam a very respectable 115 lengths and raised £263 towards the Milton Keynes Rotary charities. Well done Sarah, Tony, Emma, Daniel, Matthew and Martin, all came out the pool and said NEVER again!

They recuperated quickly after Krispy Kreme Donuts and said maybe! Over £25,000 was raised over two days, a fantastic effort in the pool and to the Rotary Club of Milton Keynes who do a fantastic job organizing this event every year.
